Research Focus and Thesis/Dissertation Title:

M.S. Thesis: "Prevalence and socioeconomic implications of marine debris in southern Belize" Ph.D.: Geographic Information Techniques Jayla is originally from Houston, Texas and began her studies at the University of Alabama in 2015. She is interested in the effects of human interactions on the environment and sustainability, especially in marine contexts. Jayla also currently works for the City of Tuscaloosa as a Technology Project Manager. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading Stephen King novels, and baking.
