Jayla’s PhD research focuses on the human-environment interactions on the Cahaba River, AL. This research explores the relationship between development, fish communities, and streamflow.  Her M.S. thesis is titled: “Prevalence and socioeconomic implications of marine debris in southern Belize". Jayla also currently works for the City of Tuscaloosa as a Director of Strategic Initiatives.
